L2 Snow Density Monitoring

Cryosat L2 data includes a snow density field for each 1Hz record. In Baseline C, the snow density value (in kg/m3) is set to a constant value of 400 kg/m3 in SAR mode, 0 in other modes. In Baseline D, the snow density value (in kg/m3) is set to a constant value of 400 kg/m3 in SAR and SARIN mode, 0 in LRM.

This tool provides global and polar plots of the L2 snow density field for each 30-day data take.
