Crossover Derived Parameters
This section provides results from crossover processing of 30 and 60-day data takes of Level-2 GDR-A.
Measuring the elevation residual at orbit crossover points is a primary method of assessing the performance of the altimeter and the processing chain. Over time intervals where there is no expected change in the surface elevation the elevation difference at a crossover provides a measure of altimeter and chain performance, height error and antenna polarity issues.
- Orbit maps - shows per-data take orbit tracks, crossover locations and quality flags.
- Statistics - per-data take r.m.s elevation differences, time tag statistics and trend plots
- Elevation residual maps - Polar maps of crossover elevation residuals
- Sigma0 residual maps - Polar maps of crossover sigma0 residuals (power differences)
- Crossover density - Polar maps of the density of valid crossover data
- Correction checks - by crossover analysis. Monitors r.m.s elevation differences after adding and subtracting corrections.
